Salt River Eagles Fall in Overtime at Finals

In their first playoff appearance in more than six years, the Salt River High School Eagles boy’s basketball team lost in the Division IV first-round playoff match-up on February 21 against the Arizona Charter Academy Bulldogs from Surprise.

 

Youth Show Their Love of Basketball During the Valentine’s Classic Basketball Tournament

On February 14 and 15, youth ages 12 years and under from the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community and other Arizona communities participated in the Valentine’s Classic Basketball Tournament, a double-elimination tournament.

 

Baby Crawling Contest

Celebrating Valentine’s Day with smiles and laughter, families from the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community entered their babies in the 2014 Baby Crawling Contest, held in the aerobics room at the Salt River Fitness Center on Friday, February 14. Early childhood is the most important time to begin promoting both physical and mental health, so SRPMIC Health and Human Services and the Early Childhood Program host this event every year.

 

2014 Salt River Jr. High 7th-8th Grade Basketball Tournament

The 2014 Salt River Junior High 7th-8th Grade Basketball Tournament took place at the Salt River Community Building on February 21 and 22. The tournament attracted six teams in the boys division and five teams in the girls division. Talent from all over the Valley and central Arizona was showcased.
