On June 28, Salt River Fire Department (SRFD) and the Salt River Police Department (SRPD) competed in a family, fun exhibition match at the Salt River High School.

Both SRFD and SRPD agreed to compete in the matchup to help raise money for the family of the slain officer, Jair Cabrera, who was shot and killed while on duty. One hundred percent of the proceeds went to Cabrera’s family; his brother was one of the many in attendance, accepting the donations on behalf of the family.

In his last involvement of the Community, Shawn Lytle orchestrated the game with hopes to turn the event into an annual celebration of Cabrera’s life and his service to the Community.
