Community Members Inducted into City of Mesa Sports Hall of Fame

On November 24, at a ceremony at Red Mountain High School, Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community member and Lehi resident Gabriel Scabby was inducted into the City of Mesa Sports Hall of Fame as a member of Westwood High School’s 1994 championship cross country team..


 

Marcos de Niza Captain Encourages Commitment to Sports

Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community member Sean Wood is having a memorable high school experience as a senior. He is playing basketball one last time for Marcos de Niza High School in Tempe. Wood is on the varsity team and is also team captain, and he encourages Community members to attend some of the games.

10th Annual Miracle House Foundation Golf Tournament

More than 30 teams participated in this year’s Miracle House Foundation Golf Tournament, which was held Friday, November 21 at the Talking Stick Golf Club. This year ‘s tournament was a milestone for Miracle House Foundation; it marked the foundations 10th anniversary of hosting their fundraising tournament. A shotgun start took place at 9 a.m. with all players heading to the north range.


The Salt River Community Children's Foundation 11th Annual Golf Classic was a huge success!

On December 1, the weather was fabulous, the golf courses were in great condition and the hospitality was top-notch, which resulted in a super time for everyone who participated in the Salt River Community Children’s Foundation 11th Annual Golf Classic, held at the Talking Stick Golf Club. Lucky players also won various prizes and raffles; however, the true winners of this annual fundraising event are the children of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community (SRPMIC).
