Community Joins Hands for 10th Annual Earth Day Celebration

For 10 years now, celebrating and learning more about how to protect our Earth has been a tradition within the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community. On Saturday, April 5, many individuals from the Community, as well as tribal employees and their families, came out to support this great cause by joining hands to celebrate Earth Day.

 

Buchanan receives Marcus Harrison, Jr. Leadership Award

Rudy Buchanan, a longtime employee of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community Social Services Department, was recognized with the Marcus “Mark” Harrison, Jr. Leadership Award on Thursday, March 27, during the 10th annual American Indian Disability Summit luncheon.

 

The Lonely Cactus Solar Panel Project

The Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community’s Lonely Cactus housing subdivision, consisting of apartments for seniors and those with disabilities, will be the first in the Community to have solar panels installed, on new covered parking structures. The project already has begun and will take roughly one month to complete.
