President Obama Visits Desert Vista High School

On Tuesday, August 6, President Barack Obama arrived in Arizona to shed light on his plans for our nation’s economic recovery. He made a quick stop at Erickson Construction in Chandler before heading to Desert Vista High School in Phoenix, where he delivered a speech on the housing market and the middle class.

The Inter Tribal Council of Arizona (ITCA) and the Arizona State University (ASU) Office of the President on American Indian Initiatives have collaborated with several sponsors, including the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, to publish a new report, The State of Indian Country Arizona. A reception took place on August 21 at the Heard Museum in central Phoenix to mark the publication of Volume 1 of the report.
