The Mesa Police Academy class#34 started on July 8, 2013 and graduated on November 21, 2013. This class included recruits from various local Arizona agencies and includes 4 from Salt River Police Department (SRPD).
Mesa Police Academy provides basic training for recruits striving to become Arizona Peace Officers. This 20 week intensive basic training program includes subjects such as criminal law, courtroom demeanor, constitutional and state law, patrol and pursuit procedures, crowd management, impaired driver identification, traffic collision investigation, crime scene management, cultural awareness, report writing, first aid, firearms training, high risk stops, defensive tactics and vehicle operations. Now that they have graduated, our newest Salt River Police Department Officers include:
• Officer J. Clark
• Officer L. DiCarlo
• Officer D. Randall
• Officer Z. Rollings
These new officers will attend a two week in-house SRPD post-academy. They will then join our in-house SRPD Field Training Officer (FTO) Program, where they will ride with experienced veteran police officers for 16 weeks of additional training and instruction specifically tailored to meet our community’s needs.
While in the FTO program, the new police officers will be evaluated and observed daily to ensure they meet our high standards, performance measurements and policies so they may serve and protect our Community to the best of their ability.
Please join us in welcoming SRPMIC newest Police Officers to the Community.
