Boys & Girls Clubs Native American Summit

gallery-01It’s been six years since the Boys & Girls Clubs in Indian Country sat down to discuss ways to make their program better for Native American youth. On November 12, professionals and Native American leaders from the Boys & Girls Clubs gathered to share, learn and create a deeper relationship with each other while learning to become greater leaders and helping youth grow into the leaders of the future.

SRES Hosts STEM Family Night

gallery-02On Monday, November 25, Salt River Elementary School (SRES) hosted its first-ever Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Family Night. Salt River Elementary is one of seven schools in Arizona to be selected as a pilot site for the Helios STEM School Pilot Program. At STEM Family Night, students and their families experienced an evening of science projects and hands-on experiments.

Diabetes Prevention Run

gallery-03On the chilly Saturday morning of November 23, runners, walkers and joggers came out to the 26th Annual Run Against Diabetes to improve diabetes awareness on the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community. The event was held in recognition of November as American Diabetes Month.
