Community Youth Learn the Basics of Basketball

This spring, young children up to five years old have been participating in the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community Recreation Department’s “Li’l Ballerz” program, enjoying their first experience learning how to play basketball. The kids met on Saturdays in March.

Phoenix Suns Player Marcus Morris and Suns Gorilla Bring Bullying Awareness to SRES

Salt River Elementary School fifth- and sixth-graders attended an anti-bullying presentation by the Phoenix Suns on Monday, March 25. Phoenix Suns broadcaster Kevin Ray, Suns power forward Marcus Morris and the Gorilla visited the school to educate the kids about how to prevent bullying in their school.

 

New Coach Rebuilds Salt River High School Track Team

The track team currently consists of 10 athletes and the season is at its midpoint. Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community members, parents and students are invited to attend the several remaining track events in the season to cheer on the Salt River athletes as they compete and try to qualify for the state finals.
