Salt River High Qualifies for AIA Sectional Cross-Country Meet

Salt River High School recently participated in its first-ever Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA) sectional cross-country meet. Five boys and six girls competed. Two of the SRHS students qualified for the state meet, which was held Saturday, November 3 in north Phoenix.

 

Zumba Fitness Moster Mash

As Halloween approached, the fitness staff from the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community Diabetes Program planned a Zumba Fitness “Monster Mash,” which was held at the Salt River Community Building on October 29.

 

SRPMIC Red Mountain Half Marathon

On October 27, the Salt River Fitness Center and Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community WellPath Program sponsored the Fourth Annual SRPMIC Red Mountain Half Marathon. The 13.1-mile route leads runners through the Community, with Red Mountain as the background. This year’s race brought out a total of 156 runners.

 

Rallo Baptisto Teen Center Fall Activities

On Saturday, October 27, Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community member teens participated in the Dirty 6 Mud Run, presented by Terrain Mud Runs at Rawhide in Chandler. A group of teens from the Rallo Baptisto Teen Center went to participate themselves or cheer on their peers during the muddy challenge.
