Peace Officer Memorial Day

The 87th Congress of the United States of America, House Joint Resolution Number 730 (Public Law 87-726) codified on October 1, 1962 and signed by President John F. Kennedy proclaimed May 15 of each year as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the calendar week of each year during which such May 15 occurs as Police Week.

Nationwide, speed related crashes tragically take the lives of thousands of persons each year and serious injure hundreds of thousands of persons each year. Speeding is a factor in about 33 percent (12,350) of all traffic fatality crashes, 13 percent (700,000) of all non-fatal injury crashes and there are over 2.3 million vehicles involved in property damage only crashes each year.

SRPD Finds Success With The East Valley Fusion Center

The Salt River Police Department has found success with the bond with the East Valley Fusion Center; in finding people who commit crimes either in the surrounding jurisdictions or inside the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community.
