Twenty-six teams participated in this year’s 175 Classic Basketball Tournament, which was held on April 14 at the Pi-Copa Gym. The tournament enrolls players ages 30 and up, and every year players look forward to the games.

The biggest turnout for teams this year was in the games for the Men’s 40 And Over Division.

In the Women’s Division, the Aces defeated X-Factor 40-28, making Aces the women’s champions. Third place in the women’s tournament went to IC Hot.
In the Men’s 30-39 Division, team Nava/Hopi played the Warriors in a close game that went into overtime. The final score was 60-55, with Nava/Hopi taking the championship and the Warriors finishing as runner-up. Third place went to the Phoenix Ballers team and fourth place went to JR’s.

In the Men’s 40 And Over Division, Fort McDowell came up as champions, beating Al’s Baseliners in a tough game with a score of 57-48. The MVP award went to Mike Brown. The Salt River Blazers finished in third place, and fourth place went to the Blue Adobe Grill team.

All the players on teams that placed took home T-shirts, and the division champions won 175 Classic Tournament trophies. Every year this tournament is a big draw for the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community.
