Community Member Ty Romo Brings Home Rodeo Championship

Hats off to Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community Member Ty Romo, who returned as a world champion from the 37th annual Indian National Finals Rodeo (INFR), held November 6-10 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

 

Salt River High School Wrestling Begins

The high school wrestling season is here, and students have begun to hit the mats and hone their skills as they prepare for a successful season for the Salt River High School and Junior High wrestling teams.

 

Inaugural Arizona CAA All-Star Football Champion Team Host Four Players from Salt River High School

Four players on the Jr. High football team were selected to represent Salt River High School in the inaugural Arizona Charter Athletic Association (AZ-CAA) All-Star football game on Saturday, November 18, 2012 at Phoenix Christian. The players, Zach Joe-23, Marciano Dallas-19, Thomas Brown-77 and Damian Marez-33; joined team East and were amongst players from Desert Heights of Glendale and South Pointe Jr. High of Phoenix, the2012 CAA Junior High Tackle Football State Champions. Team East played against team West represented by players from Heritage Academy of Mesa and La Paloma Academy of Tucson, the 2012 CAA Junior High Tackle Football State Runner-up.

 

Youth Triathlon Gives Kids a Taste of the Ironman

More than 20 youngsters participated in the 2012 Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community Youth Triathlon, held on November 10 at the Salt River Community Building.
