On March 13, Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community’s Health and Human Services (HHS) Health Education Services held a family fun Health Fair as part of Community Health and Wellness Week. Events kicked off with a 20-minute Zumba class, led by Robin Mowers and Rachel Seepie.

The special guests at the Health Fair, which was held at the Community Building, were two Colorado Rockies players, shortstop Hector Gomez and pitcher Edward Cabrera.

“We are very happy to be here [in the Community],” said Jim Kellogg, vice-president of Community and Retail Operations for the Colorado Rockies. “We all love the spring training facility.” People lined up for a meet-and-greet with the players, who took pictures with fans and handed out autographed shirts.

This event was part of Health and Wellness Week, which featured a variety of wellness-oriented events in the Community during spring break, March 12-16.
A healthful dinner was served to everyone who attended the Health Fair. There were also prize drawings throughout the evening.
