Spring Break

gallery-01On Monday, March 12, the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community held the Spring Break Kick-Off Celebration at the Salt River Recreation Football Field. On Wednesday, March 14, parents got their children up extra early so that they could sign up for the annual spring break activities. Throughout the week, children could take part in field trips to various locations around the Valley. On March 16, the spring-break activity for teens ages 15 to 18 was a trip to the Wildlife World Zoo & Aquarium in Litchfield Park.

Health Fair a Centerpiece of Community Health and Wellness Week

gallery-02On March 13, Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community’s Health and Human Services (HHS) Health Education Services held a family fun Health Fair as part of Community Health and Wellness Week.

2012 Unity Run

gallery-01On the afternoon of Friday, March 16, 100 to 200 runners participating in the Unity Run entered the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community to end their weeklong journey at Red Mountain. The Unity Run is an annual prayer run, which is done relay-style from Sonora, Mexico, Tucson, Arizona to The Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community.

Rockies Baseball Camp And Phoenix Suns Educate The Importance Of Wellness

gallery-04Youth participate in the Colorado Rockies baseball camp on March 12 at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick. Families participated in a number of physical activities leading up to a special visit by Phoenix Suns forward/center Channing Frye and the Phoenix Suns Gorilla for the Community Wellness Program held its spring series on Friday, March 9 at Friendship Park.
