Salt River Eagles Show Good Effort in Homecoming Game

The homecoming game for the Salt River Eagles football team took place on September 16. The players were excited to demonstrate all the hard work and effort they had put in throughout the week, being prepared both physically at practice and academically in eligibility. Starting the season 0-3, the Eagles were also hoping to land their first win of the season against the Rancho Solano Mustangs, who were also looking for their first win.

 

Salt River Volleyball Building a Program

Rival Teams Go Head-to-Head in Freshman Football

On Thursday, September 22, Mesa’s biggest rivals, Westwood and Mountain View High Schools, went head-to-head in freshman football. Students from the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community play on each team. Daniel Smith, Jr., a freshman at Westwood, and No. 75 on the freshman football team, played against Community members and Mountain View High School freshmen Jacob Robles, No. 43, and Isaiah Manuel, No. 79.

 

Reaping the Physical and Mental Benefits of Exercise

Mike Reyes needed to make a big change in his life, and with his stress increasing, he finally decided to visit the Salt River Fitness Center. “I was told if I had a lot of stress that exercising would help me a lot,” said Reyes, “so I gave it a try.”
