2011 T-Ball Challenge

Children ages five through seven on T-ball teams from the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation and Ak-Chin Indian Community participated in the T-Ball Challenge, held at the Salt River and Von Hayes ballfields May 13-14. Ten competitive teams participated against each other in a guaranteed three games. Teams began playing Friday evening and continued the following morning, wrapping up at noon.

 

Game of Fun at Salt River High

Now that the baseball and softball seasons are over for Salt River High School, Junior High Softball Head Coach Eric Udell and Assistant Coach Deborah Tsosie got together with Junior High Baseball Coaches Simon Smith and David Schumacher and decided to put on a junior high softball and baseball ”fun game.” The teams got together Monday evening, May 9, and played a friendly game of ball, girls versus boys.

 

Salt River Athletes Make Final Throws This Season

The Salt River High School track team ended its season competing in the Scottsdale Christian Invitational and the Trojans Late Qualifier. Despite competing throughout the season, none of the members of the track team qualified for the 1A state track meet.

 

SRHS Athletic Director Looks Back on a Successful Year in Athletics

As the 2010–11 school year comes to a close at Salt River Junior High and High School, Athletic Director Shawn Lytle looked back on the success of the student athletes, the growth of the programs, and working to keep academics as the focus for the students.
