In November, the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community Recreation Department hosted a late Flag Football Co-ed League. There were six teams: Taylor and The Gang, coached by Juan Espinoza; Navahopi, coached by Shane Cepai; Banditos, coached by Rito Lopez; Team Elite, coached by Zeke Mendoza; Something New, coached by Mike Reyes; and Bosses, coached by Mykey Barnes.

The league lasted a month, with six games played on Tuesday and Thursday nights. Every game was competitive and close, but in the end the top three teams were Something New taking first place, Taylor and The Gang as the runners-up, and Bosses taking third.

“We would like to thank all the participants and their families that came out to watch or play in the league,” said David Willis, who was the league’s coordinator. “It was a fun season.”
