On October 8, Salt River High School students celebrated homecoming with a Vintage Circus Parade and a football game that welcomed school alumni and supporters from across the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community.

 

Junior High Wrestler Ends Season with First-Place Win

Carson Junior High eighth-grader Daniel Smith, Jr. ended his first year of wrestling with a big win during the Mesa Junior High School Wrestling Tournament on October 2. Smith placed first in the heavyweight division. Smith and his teammates wrestled against different teams from around the Valley.

 

Salt River Hosts September Slam Co-Ed Slow-Pitch Softball Tournament

Co-ed softball teams took to the Salt River Ballfield on October 9 to participate in the September Slam tournament. After a very close game, which was decided in the final inning, the Outlaws defeated the S-Bombers 11-10 to take home the championship. T-shirts, sweatshirts and tournament bags were awarded to the top finishers and all-tournament players.

 

Miracle House Foundation Seeking Participants for Upcoming Golf Tournament

The Miracle House Foundation is preparing to host its primary fundraiser, the annual golf tournament, at Talking Stick Golf Club on November 19. Proceeds are used to fund grants on an annual basis to the Senior Home Repair and Replacement Program (SHRRP) and the Salt River Financial Services Institution’s Stepping Stones program.
