Desert-Nesting Bald Eagles To Remain on Threatened-Species List For Now

According to Environmental Program Supervisor Dan Daggett with the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Department, the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service (USFWS) violated the Endangered Species Act when it delisted Arizona’s desert-nesting bald eagles.

On the evening of Thursday, November 4, the Salt River Tribal Library invited families in the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community to come out and explore the skies with a Star Party.

 

Mesquite Pancake Breakfast and Milling at Huhugam Ki Museum

On October 30, the Huhugam Ki Museum on the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community hosted a mesquite pancake breakfast and milling event, with free milling of mesquite pods. People flocked to the Community from all over the Valley to use the only hammermill available locally that processes mesquite pods into mesquite flour.
