SRPMIC 2010 New Year's Celebration

After months of preparation, the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community New Year’s festivities went off without a hitch for the fifth year in a row.
Hundreds of Community members and employees came out to enjoy the food and carnival rides, rock out to the music, and just to people-watch while welcoming the new year.

Army Staff Sergeant Al Charlie Receives Bronze Star

U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Al R. Charlie was awarded the Bronze Star for his tactical knowledge and quick reactions when his convoy came under direct fire from anti-Afghan forces. Charlie was maintenance section senior wheel mechanic of the Special Operations Task Force during Operation Enduring Freedom from January 26, 2009 until his return home in July 2009.

 

SRFD Trains for High-rise Operations at Two Waters

On Saturday, December 5, the Salt River Fire Department held a special training activity for the firefighters on High-Rise Operations. The training is designed so that the SRFD can become familiar with fighting fires and mounting other emergency operations in high-rise buildings, which is something new for the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community.


 

Casino Arizona Celebrates Senior Birthdays

About 100 Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community seniors whose birthdays fall between October and December came out on December 17 to celebrate their birthdays at a special party hosted by Casino Arizona.
