JOB DUTIES/DESCRIPTION:

Performs a variety of routine and some non-routine clerical/accounting functions in accordance with standard procedures in general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, trust accounting, collections, finance, payroll or other financial department. Posts information and balances general or subsidiary ledgers, processes payment and compiles segments of monthly closings, annual reports, etc. Contacts other departments, customers, and/or outside agencies to resolve problems.
 
* Posts detailed entries to accounting records and handles routine transactions such as allotments, disbursements, data entry, 3-way match, voucher preparation and remittances and prepares standard journal and ledger entries.
 
* Prepares and verifies various standard accounting entries for financial data processing system; reconciles report discrepancies and problems. Utilizes adding machine or desk calculator.
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* 1+ years of experience in accounting or related field
* Strong computer skills especially in Excel
* Experience with mainframe system (i.e. Oracle) is a preferred
* Excellent analytical, verbal, and written skills
* Ability to meet or exceed process and quality metrics
* Effectively interact with customers
